Jewish college students are invited to experience all that Hawaii has to offer with Aloha Aviv! Kosher meals, Shabbat programming, minyanim, and endless adventure all while learning online. Aloha Aviv gives college students the opportunity to spend the spring semester in Honolulu, Hawaii at the beautiful, COVID-safe DoubleTree by Hilton Alana Waikiki Beach. You will connect with students from all over the country, build your network, and enjoy a vibrant Jewish community in partnership with Chabad of Hawaii.


Our Hotel: DoubleTree by Hilton Alana Waikiki Beach

The Hilton Hotel Alana is located on the edge of Waikiki, within a mile of Waikiki Beach, Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon,  and  the Ala Moana Center, and within three miles of the Waikiki Aquarium, Royal Hawaiian Center, and downtown Honolulu. The Chabad of Hawaii is a 10-minute walk away!

All guest rooms offer custom-designed beds, contemporary Hawaiian decor, private balconies, closet, dresser, mini-fridge, flat-screen TVs, PS3, and free high-speed WiFi. 

Features to the hotel include a dedicated Aloha Aviv space, pool, fitness center, Wi-Fi, Beach access, Business center, reservable private study, cafe, concierge service, and beautiful guest rooms with stunning views.

Frequently asked questions

Is food included in the program cost?

Yes! When you join Aloha Aviv for the Spring Semester of 2021, you receive a Glatt Kosher food program.

Does Aloha Aviv follow Hawaii's COVID-19 regulations?

Yes! Aloha Aviv abides by Hawaii's COVID-19 regulations completely. In addition, according to Hawaii travel restrictions, there is now a pre-travel testing option that will allow travelers to bypass Hawaii's quarantine restrictions, as long as they bring along proof of a negative COVID-19 test from a state-approved trusted testing partner. We will assist all registered students throughout the process!

Is there security or staff in the building?

Yes! Aloha Aviv's Hilton Hotel Alana includes security and on-call staff to maximize the safety of our students.

Is financial aid available?

Yes! Limited financial aid is available. Financial aid is distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible!

When I submit my application, am I committing to the program?

No! Applications to Aloha Aviv are 100% non-committal!

Is Aloha Aviv a co-ed program?

Yes! Aloha Aviv is a co-ed program. In terms of residence, genders will be separated by floor.

Will there be minyanim?

Yes! We will have daily minyanim.

Will there be excursions?

Yes! We will offer optional excursions during the program.

Can I come for only part of the program?

No. You must participate for the entirety of the program. You can leave whenever you like, but the listed dates give the minimum cost of program.

What is the age-range for students joining the program?

Aloha Aviv is a program for Jewish undergraduate and graduate university students!
